Join our team! Clarivate is seeking motivated Patent Analysts to work with us in support of a contract with the US Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO). As a Patent Analyst, you will be responsible for performing a comprehensive search and written opinion on the patentability of an array of diverse technologies.About you - experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

• Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Microbiology, or Biotechnology
• At least 1 year of previous patent examining or patent searching experience
• At least 1 year of experience developing search methodology and conducting searches using databases such as Orbit, Derwent Innovation, Google Scholar, Google Patents, PubMed
• Must be a U.S. citizen or work-eligible legal resident who has continuously resided in the U.S. for at least the two previous years
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust ClearanceIt would be great if you also had
  • Master's or PhD
  • At least 3 years of previous patent examining or patent searching experience
  • In-depth knowledge of technical literature in the areas of engineering, software, and business methods
    • Demonstrated work experience in roles requiring a high level of attention to detail
    • Strong time management skills and dependability in completing quality projects against deadlinesWhat will you be doing in this role?
      • On a weekly basis, accept projects with a defined due date
      • Demonstrate the ability to read a disclosure quickly and understand the technical nuances which may potentially distinguish it from the prior art
      • Perform a comprehensive search to ensure the most relevant prior art is located and provide a logical and complete search history
      • Prepare a written opinion applying the most relevant prior art to the disclosure
      • Maintain proficiency with commercial patent searching databases and other proprietary databases of technical publications
      • Stay abreast of best practices and changes to search procedures via self-directed review of materials provided by Clarivate
      • Maintain consistent timeliness and superior quality of deliverables
