  • THIS POSITION REQUIRES A FULL 3 YEARS OF ICU EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED. Typically, every other weekend is required but might have to work 3 weekends a month if unit is busy and needs extra coverage. Flexibility is a must.
    • Job Requirements
    • The right candidate will have 3 full years of current ICU experience and hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and AZ license or compact license.
    • UNA Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48hrs PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE of a position.
    • Pass/fail Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation.
    • COVID vaccine required or declination form with appropriate documentation AND hospital approval.
      • Schedule Information
      • Self scheduling. Manager may need to balance shifts for unit needs.
      • 3 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule
      • May have 1 holiday off in an assignment
      • No additional call/standby shifts required.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Surgical ICU - Trauma Neuro Surgery
        • Medical ICU - Medical Cardiac + Overflow
        • Expectation to float between all 3 ICUs.
        • Charge Nurses do not take patients
        • No nurse aids on unit, only used for sitters and as Health Unit Secretary
        • Hospitalist or Intensivist in house 24/7
        • RNs required to intrepret own strip. GE monitors
        • Nurse:Patient Ratios 1:2, 1:1
          • Additional Details
          • Travelers could also float to the sister facility Mercy Gilbert, if needed.
          • Travelers must pass a dysrhythmia exam upon offer with 2 max attempts.
          • Flexibility with scheduling is a must.
          • Travelers may be low censused up to 3 times per contract depending on unit needs.
