About The PositionThe City of Phoenix - Office of Mayor Kate Gallego is seeking a Community Relations Director. The Community Relations Director is an instrumental position within the Mayor's Office and plays an important role in supporting community initiatives.
Responsibilities

• Lead development of new and existing community relationships (residents, neighborhood associations, community-based organizations, labor organizations, elected official offices)
• Build lasting partnerships to better understand community concerns and promote the work and mission of the Office of the Mayor, including on priority issues such as housing, workforce, climate, etc.
• Direct constituent services and manage staff responsible for maintaining email inbox, proclamation requests, community correspondence, etc.
• Regularly attend / manage staff who attend community events, neighborhood meetings, and similar events
• Proactively identify opportunities for Mayor's Office support of neighborhoods and community stakeholders
• Ensure a robust annual outreach calendar and citywide coverage
• Support the Mayor at events and meetings as needed
  
  Requirements
  • 8-10 years professional experience (public-facing, community, or constituent services preferred)
  • Strong initiative and work ethic
  • Interest in public service and care for the people of the City of Phoenix
  • Ability to network, build new relationships, and handle confrontation
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekday evenings and weekends
    
    Salary and Benefits
    • Salary range of $80,000 - $105,000
