Summary:
We will significantly increase production volumes in 2025, followed
by another increase in 2027, all while optimizing productivity. To
achieve these targets, we seek an experienced Manufacturing
Engineer to provide essential guidance and coaching to our
people.
The incumbent will focus on strategically important areas, optimize
processes, increase productivity, and support the overall growth
strategy.
This position plays a key role in ensuring ongoing safety, product
quality, and compliance while optimizing complex processes and
systems across the entire value stream.
Primarily focusing on large-scale, automated, multi-step batch
processes with significant manual operations, the role requires
knowledge of mathematical, physical, and social sciences, as well
as engineering analysis and design principles.
The incumbent will analyze processes & systems, make opportunities
for improvement visible, and drive actions to realize those
improvements. These efforts are critical to improving productivity
across the site, particularly in the production environment.
You will help interpret our client's standard 'lean operating
system' and guide its application appropriately with a clear focus
on adding value.
You will also collaborate with other sites and global support teams
to improve those operating system standards.
Responsibilities
Use Lean and other manufacturing/industrial engineering tools to
realize the site's transformational (breakthrough) objectives. This
includes Understand the strategic context, current state, and
analysis of relevant systems to identify opportunities aligned with
strategy.
Create (and enhance existing) models to give insights.
Build support and momentum for key initiatives
Lea,d, and coach teams to drive change
Ensure outcomes are achieved, visible, and sustained
Connect and collaborate with global, regional and OpU groups to
bring good practices to the site and to share our good practices
with others.
Develop others through leading Lean implementations.
Enhance existing problem-solving and continue to replace push with
flow and pull.
Champion change and demonstrate key skills, particularly in
root-cause problem solving and continuous improvement.
Research and test improvements to processes, ensuring safety,
quality and compliance with regulation/standards.
Play an integral role in the planning and execution of the 2025 and
2027 production capacity increases, ensuring scalability and
sustainability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address challenges
related to capacity expansion and operational excellence.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, production
engineering, industrial engineering,g or similar.
Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
5+ years' experience deploying and coaching lean as part of a
manufacturing/industrial engineering role
5+ years of experience in a company well-recognized for its lean
operations an advantage -
Experience in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry is
desirable.
Experience in the process industry is an advantage.
Proficient in manufacturing systems and statistical analysis.
Strong negotiation, influence, consultation, and facilitation
skills.
Demonstrated structured, logical, critical,l and analytical
thinking.
Ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve business goals.
Advanced digital and data skills including visualization tools
(Excel, PowerBI, or QlikSense), analytical tools (Minitab, Python,
or RShiny,) and exposure to cloud data systems.
Experience in FDA-regulated environment - Good Manufacturing
Practices, ISO 9001 is a plus.
Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
Must have strong organizational and project management abilities
along with knowledge of manufacturing processes and continuous
improvement approaches.
Must be able to train others and work with employees on all
levels.
