About UsWe are on the forefront of deploying unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) swarms for defense applications and are seeking a highly skilled Perception/ML Engineer to spearhead development of cutting-edge off-road terrain-aware navigation systems for autonomous DoD ground vehicles. This engineer will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing machine learning-based perception systems that enable our autonomous vehicles to navigate complex and unstructured off-road environments. This engineer will work closely with company leadership to align autonomous navigation capabilities with the product roadmap.Required Qualifications

• Experience developing architecture, implementation, and performance of an ML-based perception system in support of mobile robots. Experience with off-road autonomous ground robots highly desirable.
• Experience developing machine-learning models and training pipelines for terrain perception using a mixture of LIDAR and camera data.
• Strong experience with Python and/or C++.
• Experience with ML frameworks such as Tensorflow, Caffe, and/or PyTorch.
• Strong understanding of code efficiency/performance and reliability.
• Outstanding ability to write clean, fast, reliable, and highly scalable software.
• BS in CS, Math, or equivalent real-world experience.
• Strong organization and communication to work well across teams in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Comfort working in the high-paced, fluid environment of a tech startup.
• Excitement about contributing to the defense of the United States and its allies.
• Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance.Preferred Qualifications
• Real-world experience fielding ML-based perception navigation systems on autonomous ground vehicles, such as DARPA RACER or other DoD applications.
• MS, PhD in CS, Math, or equivalent industry ML experience.
• Experience with robotics/sensor simulation.
• Experience developing GenAI implementations in a robotic reasoning context.
• Ability to relocate to Phoenix, AZ area.Compensation: $120-150k base + equity
